These symptoms are indicative of sugar metabolic disorders. If the craving for sweet is in response to low energy during the day, this could be a sign of hypoglycemia. If you carry excess weight around your waist (spare tire) and you crave sweet after eating this is usually an indication of Insulin resistance.

This can be related to several causes. Improper nutrition with usually high consumption of fast food, sweet, alcohol, fruit and particularly fruit juice , grain, bread, potatoes. This can also be associate with Insulin resistance particularly if the weight in carried in the mid section of the body. A more intense form of insulin resistance is a genetic predisposition called syndrome X. The main non medical source of water retention are : eating too much salt, staying standing fro extended periods of time, hot weather, PMS (deficiency of progesterone), use of contraception , pregnancy, menopause, deficiency of Vitamins B1, B5, B6, and certain medication.
