This can be related to several causes. Improper nutrition with usually high consumption of fast food, sweet, alcohol, fruit and particularly fruit juice , grain, bread, potatoes. The main non medical source of water retention are : eating too much salt, staying standing fro extended periods of time, hot weather, PMS (deficiency of progesterone), use of contraception , pregnancy, menopause, deficiency of Vitamins B1, B5, B6, and certain medication.
